An Elopement Adventure in Iceland – Cliffs, Waves & a Promise
One of the things I love most about photographing weddings and elopements is how far they can take me – not just in distance, but in experience. Past summer, that journey led me to Iceland, where I had the joy of joining a couple for an intimate celebration unlike any other.
We began high on the cliffs, the Atlantic stretching endlessly beneath us. The wind played with her cape – chosen instead of a veil – giving each movement a sense of wild elegance. There was no need to rush. We took our time, letting the landscape and the weather shape the mood, capturing moments that felt both cinematic and deeply personal.
From there, we made our way to a black sand beach. With only the ocean as witness, they exchanged their vows – words spoken quietly, yet powerful enough to fill the whole horizon. No audience, no distractions, just the two of them and the raw beauty of the place.
As the waves rolled in and the wind tangled their hair, they laughed, embraced, and let the moment sink in. It was the kind of day that reminds me why I travel across Europe for my couples – to create photographs that capture not just the way a place looks, but the way it feels to be there, together.
